A beautiful pair of sunglasses has to be earned — through the maker’s standards, the quality of the materials, and the precision of every gesture. Rather than big promises, here is exactly what lies behind every Sunrise Ibiza pair: the workshops, the materials, the technical choices, the quality checks. Everything, with full transparency.
Before the first prototype, there is always a precise visual reference: the exact shade of a Cala Comte sunset, the neon glow of an iconic club, the amber light of a late afternoon on the harbour.
From there, every model is defined in detail: frame shape, lens width, temple curve, balance of proportions. We work on silhouettes that flatter a wide variety of faces — neither too slim nor too oversized — with one obsession: that the pair feels just right from the very first try-on.
No model enters the collection without being worn, tested and approved by our team in real-life conditions: full sun, extended wear, movement.
Our frames are made from polycarbonate, a material chosen for three essential qualities:
Lightness. Heavy sunglasses always end up tiring the bridge of the nose and the temples. Polycarbonate allows for frames you forget after just a few minutes of wear — essential for full days on a terrace or at a festival.
Resistance. Polycarbonate handles everyday knocks: a pair left at the bottom of a bag, slipped into a pocket, forgotten on a beach towel. It’s the same type of material used for protective equipment, precisely because of its robustness.
Flexibility. The temples keep a natural suppleness, allowing them to adapt to different face widths without creating excessive pressure. A pair that feels too tight is a pair you stop wearing.
This is the one thing we never compromise on. However colorful and stylish they may be, our lenses are first and foremost protective eyewear.
UV400 protection. Our lenses block ultraviolet rays up to 400 nanometers — meaning all UVA and UVB rays. It’s the highest protection standard for sunglasses lenses: your eyes are shielded from rays responsible for premature eye aging.
A tint is not a filter. An essential point, and often misunderstood: it’s the UV treatment of the lens that protects you, not the depth of its color. A translucent pink Sunrise Ibiza lens protects just as much as a black lens, because UV400 protection is built into the lens itself. So you can choose your tint for the style, with complete confidence.
Carefully crafted tints. Smoky gradients, bold colors, reflections: each lens tint is selected for its visual effect — the view you see through it, and the look others see on you.
The difference between a decent pair and a pair you’re proud to wear lies in the details you barely notice — but that change everything.
The finish of the frames. Our blacks are deep and glossy, our tortoiseshells warm and nuanced. The surface is even, with no visible flaws, checked pair by pair.
The hinges. Too loose, and the pair slips; too stiff, and it feels forced. Every pair is checked to ensure a smooth opening and a confident hold at the temples.
Every batch we receive is inspected before going on sale: frame condition, finish quality, lens alignment, hinge performance, and shade consistency. Any pair showing the slightest flaw is set aside.
It’s invisible work for you — and that’s exactly the point. The only thing you should notice when opening your order is an impeccable pair.
The lens assembly. The lenses are precisely set into the frame, with no play or misalignment. A poorly fitted lens shows immediately — and never leaves us.
Our sunglasses are crafted in specialist workshops whose expertise has been shaped over decades, working alongside the greatest names in luxury optics and eyewear. The same know-how, the same precision, the same high standards found behind the most prestigious displays in the industry.
Working with these partners means setting uncompromising specifications. The machines that inject our frames are calibrated to the hundredth of a millimetre. The lacquer baths are monitored for temperature, viscosity and coating thickness. Lens setting, a critical stage that defines the durability of each pair, follows protocols proven across tens of thousands of references. Every operation is codified, measured, checked — just as it would be for a watch or a fine timepiece.
This expertise is not always visible at first glance. It reveals itself over time: in a pair that keeps its shape, hinges that stay smooth after hundreds of openings, a lacquer finish that keeps its depth season after season. We did not invent this savoir-faire. We made the demanding choice to work with those who have mastered it from the very beginning.
No finish, however refined, can save a mediocre material. That is why our standards begin even before the workshop — at the moment the materials are selected.
The polycarbonate used for our frames is a proven technical grade, chosen for its exceptional mechanical properties: impact resistance comparable to protective equipment, long-lasting performance through temperature changes, and dimensional stability that prevents the frame from warping. It belongs to the same family of materials found in premium references across the industry, selected for the same reason: lightness should never come at the cost of fragility.
Our sun lenses receive particular attention. Beyond UV400 protection — non-negotiable for us — we select lenses whose tint is embedded in the material itself, not applied as a simple surface film. This difference, invisible to the naked eye, changes everything: a lens tinted through the material keeps its exact colour for years, while a filmed lens can lose intensity with wear. Gradients are crafted progressively, with a smooth transition from the top to the bottom of the lens — a detail that instantly sets quality sunglasses apart from low-end production.
The secondary components — screws, hinges, nose pads on the relevant models — are selected with the same care. A hinge is the living mechanism of a pair of sunglasses: we work exclusively with proven components, so it stays precise after thousands of uses.
This obsession with raw materials has a name in the great maisons: the nobility of the product. We apply it to the letter.
If you placed a pair of Sunrise Ibiza sunglasses side by side with a designer pair from a major fashion house coming out of the same workshops, you’d spend a long time looking for the difference in the product itself. The same families of materials. The same manufacturing protocols. The same UV400 protection. The same precision in the finish.
What sets us apart isn’t what we put into our sunglasses — it’s what we choose not to add. No oversized logo turning your face into a billboard. No chain of middlemen between the workshop and you. No artificial scarcity strategy designed to justify prestige. Our vision is more direct: to offer fashion-house quality to those who appreciate beautiful craftsmanship without needing to turn it into a social status symbol.
We believe in useful luxury — the kind you wear every day, that holds up through summers, that outlasts trends because it was designed to endure. Luxury that serves its wearer, not the other way around.
Our belief is simple: there is another way to design a pair of sunglasses. A way that sacrifices neither the material, nor the craftsmanship, nor the detail — and where the wearer remains the main character.
This way begins with the choice of workshops: partners whose expertise has been shaped alongside the world’s leading optical houses. Not to borrow their prestige, but because these skills — calibration to the hundredth, mastery of lacquer baths, precision setting — are the only ones that create sunglasses made to last.
It continues with an obsession with raw materials: technical polycarbonate chosen for its strength, lenses tinted all the way through so their colour never fades, UV400 protection across the entire catalogue, hinges and components selected with the same care as the visible details. A pair of sunglasses is judged as much by what you see as by what you don’t.
Finally, it is proven through the discipline of quality control: every batch inspected before release, every pair set aside at the slightest flaw. Invisible work, so that the only thing you notice when opening your order is a flawless pair.
No invented myth, no inflated marketing: just a manufacturing standard carried from the choice of material to the final inspection before shipping. This is what justifies the Sunrise Ibiza name printed inside each temple — and what means that once worn, a pair of Sunrise Ibiza sunglasses needs no introduction: it speaks for itself.

What does UV400 protection mean?
keyboard_arrow_downUV400 means the lenses block all ultraviolet rays with a wavelength of 400 nanometres or less, covering all UVA and UVB rays. It’s the highest level of protection for sunglasses lenses, recommended for extended sun exposure.
Do colored lenses protect as well as black lenses?
keyboard_arrow_downYes. UV protection comes from the lens treatment, not the intensity of its tint. A pink or blue Sunrise Ibiza lens with UV400 treatment protects your eyes just as effectively as a smoky black lens.
Can you drive with your sunglasses?
keyboard_arrow_downOur tinted sunglass lenses are suitable for daytime driving in sunny conditions. As with all tinted sunglasses, they should not be worn for night driving or in low light.
Are your sunglasses really comparable in quality to those from the leading fashion houses?
keyboard_arrow_downYes, where it matters: materials and craftsmanship. Our sunglasses come from specialized workshops that also work with some of the most prestigious brands in the industry, using the same families of polycarbonate, the same mass-tinted UV400 lenses, and the same finishing protocols. The difference isn’t in the product, but in what we choose not to add: ostentatious logos, multiple middlemen, scarcity strategies.
How should I care for my Sunrise Ibiza sunglasses?
keyboard_arrow_downRinse the lenses with clean water after the beach, wipe them with a microfiber cloth, and store your pair away from heat (never on a dashboard in direct sunlight). These simple gestures help preserve the frame’s finish and the lens coating for years.
Are the frames fragile?
keyboard_arrow_downNo. The polycarbonate used for our frames is known for its impact resistance and is also used in protective equipment. It combines strength, lightness, and flexibility for lasting comfort.
